To ensure our specialist clinical services remain viable and continue to deliver high-quality care, we are adjusting our fee schedules effective 1st July 2026.
Why Our Fees Are Changing
The Indexation Gap: As of April 2026, the national inflation rate stands at 4.2%. In contrast, Medicare indexation on the 1st of July is less than inflation at 2.6%.
The Adjustment: Our consultation fees will increase by between 3.5% and 4.1%, below the current indexation Our Commitment: We have kept this adjustment below the inflation rate to strike a balance between affordability and maintaining a viable business Changes to Credit Card Processing Fees: In alignment with updated Australian consumer regulations, from October 1st 2026, it will be illegal to pass on credit card surcharges to consumers. As a result, our practice must absorb these merchant banking costs (1-1.5%) into our regular fees impacting everyone. What item number will I be charged? If you are a new patient or it has been more than 9 months since your last review, you will be charged a new item 110 or 132. If you are a new patient being seen for a developmental, behavioural/ learning issue, or there are multiple issues, you will be charged item 132. What are your payment options? Our administration team will send an invoice after your payment. The total fee is required in full either before your appointment for a new patient, or after each appointment for follow-ups. We accept credit card payments over the phone or by direct deposit
How do I receive my Medicare rebate? This is processed from our end and will often be returned to your bank account normally within 48 hours.
What if I can’t afford to pay? The public hospital system provides Paediatric care with no out-of-pocket costs. We will offer some bridging care whilst waiting. Our Paediatricians can a provide referral and our admin team will transfer a copy of your records through to the hospital. Does my child need to attend? Your child needs to be present for the appointment. You can still have the appointment without your child, however, you will not be eligible for a Medicare rebate. This also applies to script appointments. What is the difference between a regular appointment and a short appointment? Regular appointments such as a 116 or 133 require a more detailed history, dose adjustments to medication and a formal letter written back to the referring GP after each consultation. The short follow-up appointment only apply if requested by the Paediatrician.
